Product Description
The Cartex 141-50 is a Hong Teng replacement single cartridge mechanical seal developed for selected EagleBurgmann Cartex Single-type applications. The cartridge construction combines the rotating and stationary sealing components into a pre-assembled unit, helping simplify installation, reduce assembly errors and improve repeatability during pump maintenance.
The reference Cartex Single design is a balanced mechanical seal that is independent of direction of rotation. This type of cartridge seal is commonly used for pump retrofits, packing conversions, equipment maintenance and selected original-equipment replacement applications. Depending on the installation, different flushing or quench arrangements may be required.
When replacing an existing Cartex-type seal, the model designation alone should not be used as the only identification method. Shaft diameter, gland dimensions, installed working length, connection arrangement, seal face materials and elastomer type should all be checked. Similar cartridge seals may look nearly identical while using different gland dimensions or auxiliary connections.
Hong Teng can provide selected seal face and secondary-seal material combinations according to the pumped medium. For clean water or general industrial service, standard material combinations may be suitable, while chemical, abrasive or higher-duty applications may require silicon carbide, tungsten carbide or upgraded elastomers.
